No, they just convinced some people that was the case. They did not reverse their policies of giving money to hate groups. They also never issued apologies for the insane shit Dan said.

I mean, I don’t buy fast food anyway. Seems like they have in fact shifted away from, institutionally, supporting anti-LGBT groups, although private support continues. So technically I was correct, but functionally just seems like corporate whitewashing.

I know someone who calls it the devils chicken. I’ve said it on lemmy before but I got it from him. Really pisses off his co workers. He has details of the very unchristian things they have done including grave robbing. They are just wealthy scum. Its easy to get wealthy if you lack any empathy.

Kinda? They donate to the Salvation Army and have had several scandals over the years due to discrimination based on faith.

That said, they are also like the only corporation to stand firm and keep implementing DEI policies despite criticism from their purported base market.

I tried Chick-fil-A once, because a friend had done a Trump-style dinner party. It was the blandest, more boring thing I have ever eaten. Did I just get a bad batch, or is the blandness the point?

Yeah I don’t get it either.

The chicken is dry and overcooked, the vegetables are soggy and warm, and the bun is mushy. And because there’s next to no flavor, due to using white meat and not seasoning it properly, you have to drown the sandwich in sauce for it to be edible.

    • I came here to say literally the same thing. It’s the mpst basic-ass chicken sandwhich imaginable. I don’t understand how they got so fucking popular. Popeyes has more flavor, and even KFC has more ideas (they’re not necessarily GOOD ideas) and niether of those places donate to murder queer people.

When I actually did choose to buy from Chick-fil-A in the past, it tasted fantastic, especially the spicy chicken sandwich. Compared to most fast food places, they’re miles better in both taste and service. But I don’t wanna support conservative Christians that are homophobic so I choose not to eat there anymore.

It’s unfortunate that they’re Christo-fasc, cause everyone else is mediocre or awful (well, except maybe Popeyes Chicken sandwich) compared to them.

I think you just got just a little bit too stoned when you tried it, cause even a week old Big Mac tastes better than anything Chick-fil-A has to offer.

I had the same experience. Trump-loving employer hosted lunch sometimes, so I got to try the infamous bigot chicken. You’re correct: bland and boring. Nothing noteworthy about it at all. I don’t understand how they got to be so popular, unless the bigotry is the point.

Yes, but it’s popular for a reason. The chicken is just textured super nice and lightly breaded. Part of that reason is also hospitality even if you’re gay (I’ve personally witnessed it despite their large contributions to anti-gay organizations). If you ain’t in GA there’s a strong chance it was weak. I think many chains suffer when they get too big.
