I’m autistic and I probably would have interpreted “pet names” like that as well. 😭
Also, I would be too embarrassed to assume the other person is talking about romantic pet names. What if they were not and I’d make the situation awkward? Too much of a risk.
I’m not, and in the moment, I probably would have said the exact same thing.

Cat sounds are the best ones, I don’t make the rules. Then peacock and shoebill stork. If I went into all the bird calls I’d be here for hours though!
I don’t listen to much Beach Boys but I’ve got a lot of respect for that album.
I mean if that was verbatim the question then my answer would probably be a moderately confused “I’m for them.” If it was modified like cutsey pet names or something, then there’s more to discuss. Like my current 2 girl dogs we decided should have old lady names after some discussion.

My grandmother made it about half way through the Golden Girls for her dogs’ names over the years back in the day.
So, 2? Half of 4 is 2.
Huh, I could have sworn there was more than 4…
I guess she did make it through the Golden Girls before she passed.
Towards the end she used to say she was “only halfway through the Golden Girls” but we were suspecting she may have been getting dementia before the pneumonia got her 16 years ago.
