I learned recently that the cart going haywire happens if it collides with a bee because for some reason bees have physicality to them but they cannot be affected by physics, so instesd of the bee getting pushed aside, the cart does, and because the cart is on a scripted path, it continues to get nudged out of control.

I don’t know if you made that up or not, but it sounds plausible.
