Elon Musk admits he “got carried away” working inside Donald Trump’s administration as the unelected director of the so-called Department of Government Efficiency, where he implemented mass firings and radically cut federal spending.

“I think I got a little too involved in politics. I got carried away, frankly,” he told The Economist in a wide-ranging interview published Thursday, but offered few specifics on what he regretted.

But the world’s wealthiest man — who pumped millions of dollars into Trump’s campaign before he was deputized to oversee the president’s brutal cost-cutting operation — defended the work of DOGE and his dismantling of the nation’s global aid agency that he once promised to put through a “wood chipper.”

“We need to sort of take a close look at spending and make sure that money is being spent in sensible ways and that it is not wasted or spent on fraudulent activities. And I got a lot of flack for this, obviously,” he said.

I wonder if he can just see the writing on the wall, or if he was actually using a cannon to kill a fly? Maybe its that SpaceX isn’t doing so hot? Maybe its the investigation related to tRump going on about how Musk “really knows those voting machines” and how they’ll “never have to vote again”.

Either way, people are dead because of him. We won’t forget, and there will be an accounting for this.

Sorry I don’t support the killers troops.

I wonder who’s killed more innocent people Elon’s funding cuts or the US Military.

Interesting how you’re more upset this one person was in the military than you are about anything Elon Musk has done, to the point that you’re now mollifying Musk’s actions in order to troll this one person.

If I was on a platform with Elon Musk, I would gladly tell him how disgusting he is.

It’s interesting how an anarchist defends imperialist soldiers.

You easily could be, he’s very available on Twitter if you were actually so inclined. But instead you’re more inclined to misread the pointing out the shortsightedness of your trolling of an individual as a different statement entirely. Just as you’re more inclined to treat Musk with softer gloves if it means you can attack some random person for something that that doesn’t even apply anymore.

I’m inclined not to use platforms with fascists and bootlickers.

I feel the same way I do about soldiers who go to foreign lands and kill innocent people or at the very least contribute to the machine of death as I do cops. Fuck them and the boots they gladly wear. They are not good people and your liberal attitude towards supporting them is morally wrong.

I’ve shown zero defense for Elon, I have only shown hatred for the military.

If omission is defense, by your own logic you are defending Trump by not actively speaking against him right now instead of attacking me.
