politics @lemmy.world•Graham Platner Wins in Maine, Turning Anti-Establishment Fight on Susan Collins
1·20 hours agoRemoving as a duplicate, OP beat you by 2 hours:
I learned how to cook out of self defense.
Mom never cooked. Dad struggled with toast and the only reason we had ice in the house is that the recipe had been passed down for generations.
So if I wanted to eat and didn’t want food poisoning, it was on me to take an interest.
My grandmother taught me how to make a generations old family soup, when she passed away, I inherited her 60 year old cook-pot and recipes and built up my own kitchen around that.

politics @lemmy.world•'The Humiliation Just Compounds': Trump Tells Netanyahu Not to Bomb Iran, Then Israel Strikes Anyway
21·1 day agoNot making excuses for anything, I’m flat out telling you Netanyahu is going to Netanyahu and it doesn’t matter who is running the United States or what they say.
He made a fool of Biden, he’s making a fool of Trump, and it will continue unless someone steps in militarily, arrests him, and hauls his ass before a tribunal in the Hague.
Nobody is willing to DO that because of AIPAC money.

politics @lemmy.world•'The Humiliation Just Compounds': Trump Tells Netanyahu Not to Bomb Iran, Then Israel Strikes Anyway
21·2 days agoAhhhh… the days before AIPAC!
https://legis1.com/news/susan-collins-2026-senate-race-the-money-behind
“The single most notable funding source in Collins’ campaign is the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. AIPAC bundled more than $538,000 from 315 individual donors in a recent filing period, according to the Bangor Daily News, and accounted for nearly 20 percent of all money Collins raised in 2025, per Zeteo. Cumulative AIPAC contributions to Collins over her career have been reported at approximately $647,000.”

Games@lemmy.world•Marvel’s Wolverine - Extended Gameplay Trailer | PS5 GamesEnglish
1·2 days agoAll too often developers pass off scripted in engine rendering as legitimate gameplay. They do this so they can control everything that is displayed, but also divert more resources to the graphics to make it look better for the promo.
The tell is when there is no UI to speak of.
Compare the Wolverine footage with in game footage from Spider-Man and you’ll see what I mean.

The point is, Netanyahu doesn’t give two shits what the US says or does, regardless who is in power.

“‘I call the shots:’ Trump says Netanyahu will have ‘no choice’ but to accept whatever deal US makes with Iran”
I hope the folks who continued to argue that Biden or Harris could have stopped Netanyahu are paying attention…

Games@lemmy.world•Game Reveals kind of suck now .. (and they kind of always have)English
22·3 days agoBack in the day, you were lucky to get box art and screenshots! 😉
But, yeah, I get it. So much of it is just plainly manufactured bullshit. You can’t trust anything. Not at least since the Halo 2 debacle.
And even if it is real, there’s no guarantee it won’t change before release (cough - Watch Dogs - cough), get delayed forever, or just get outright cancelled and shelved.

6·4 days agoI mean, opera may not have invented it, but they certainly codified it. Ages before amplification.
