Generally yes, but that is the flimsy formal legal line that exists in our current system that is ‘supposed’ to keep things in check.

Obviously, functionally, this fails all the time.

But… in this case… the Minneapolis PD have basically been ordered to just completely stop assisting ICE.

So now we get to see what happens when you completely remove that flimsy line.

… and the results are not looking so great for ICE or the … general concept that US citizens have rights.
