ADHD@lemmy.world•I think I've just figured out a possible ADHD thing I've done all my life...English
1·3 days agoDang I do that too! I never realised that was adhd related. Like whenever someone comes home and I’m doing something aside from doing something that is “normal” like work or being on my computer I rush back to my chair and pretend like I was never doing it, I don’t even know why it’s like I don’t want people to see me doing nice things for some reason?
reminding myself on the last day of the year for the 365th time that I still take 20 times longer to do anything than I expect.

1·11 days agoisn’t a complete pile of shit
So they must all care if you have adhd, cause they’re all complete pieces of shit…
Usually the enjoyment comes from making other people’s lives miserable by beating them.
Described it so accurately. (I love FPS games btw)
K fine. I will get off lemmy and drink some water.
Im beginning to realise my entire personality is just adhd.

2·1 month agoWriting down things that I have to research now while I am working was really helpful. I usually end up deciding they actually werent that important once I get around to it.
These are all things I thought of and wrote down in just 1 session:
Can you put dot fluid down the drain? Poodle with straight hair Artificial scarecity in capitalism I could put a big piece of mdf or plywood between two stacks of tyres in the garage to make a table to work on bikes with bike stands
Interesting, it seams like we are in a similar boat. Although I had a 100% chance of not being on the spectrum, although I forgot to save the pdf 💀 so I will do it again when I get around to it to get a better idea of the result.
Also go to sleep!

0·2 months agoI don’t really take issue with dozens of posts by newbies asking the same basic question over and over. I used to be one and am occasionally back there again if I start a new hobby. Hopefully newcomers don’t get pushed off by overly sensitive moderation.
I’m not sure if I agree with this, unless you need clarification on something specific the forum like nature and search should allow you to find answers to previous questions without asking it again.
But I do agree overmoderation is bad. I swear if communities start implementing a karma system…

I recently decided I was going to do a bunch of research on the titanic, which then transformed into searching up how icebergs work and were they came from. I thought icebergs just get summoned in the north pole and the titanic was inside of the arctic circle. Turns out icebergs always come from glaciers, guys aren’t glaciers like so cool they are like rivers but they are frozen and absolutely massive like some of them are kilometers long, some of them are really spiky and some of them are really flat. I love going into google earth and finding glaciers. look at this one in alaska, or this amazing view of a glacier in swizterland woah look at how it is strangly bumpy but this part is really flat Ok back to icebergs I didn’t believe that over 90% of icebergs could be underwater because they look so big, how could there be so much mass underwater? I tested it out with an ice cube and it definitely makes sense, in fact it might even be more than 90%. Did you know that the biggest icebergs come from glaciers in Antarctica and they can be 10’s of km long and 100’s of km wide! that’s crazy! Also there is a place in canada off the coast of newfoundland (isn’t that a really weird name for a place btw) called iceberg ally basically where heaps of icebergs come down and you can just see them from the shore and sometimes they wash up. I think you can even get iceberg water in Newfoundland although I feel like that would be really salty, but maybe not I’m not an iceberg expert. Also the titanic sunk near Newfoundland in iceberg ally.
