Crazy Fucking Videos@lemmy.world•[Content Warning: Violence] Police opens fire on protesters in Tehranpars district. Internet is down. Phone networks are down. The video comes from StarlinkEnglish
3·21 hours agoThere are also standalone Meshtastic devices that don’t require your phone as a medium, but obviously they’re far less intuitive than an app.
Would it be still too risky to take an old phone that no longer has a SIM, running a custom ROM, and only tethered to one of these? Or would the Bluetooth still be too traceable?
I switched to iOS along the way, but Boost is still my favorite Reddit, now Lemmy client. I wish they would make their way to iOS.
I’ve said this before, but I have recently thought about what changes there are in human psychology when you go from being in a place where you can let out a guttural scream comfortably vs not.
Like, I’m sure in the past, when someone needed to, it must have been pretty easy to just go to a gorge or whatever and yell about the world for a bit.
Now, it seems no matter where you go, there’s people nearby that you wouldn’t want to confuse/annoy with your screaming. So many times I’ve wanted to just have a few moments of non-destructive rage in my apartment but know that this would upset all my neighbors.
It just feels incredibly stifling.
Is there anything to this or am I just rambling…

I recognize “he knows, don’t go home” from Minority Report. Solid reference.
