Three blondes are walking through the forest when they come upon a set of tracks. The first blonde says, “oh look, deer tracks”. The second one says, “no, those a bear tracks”. The third one says, “you’re both wrong, those are moose tracks!” Then they get hit by a train.

10·27 days agoCEOs aren’t interested in nurturing society, investing in civilization, or creating good outcomes for the general populace; all they want is their own wealth and power.
I agree completely. Shroud in particular suffers for this; I found myself wishing it was double the length but containing the same story, just so the world-building could feel a bit more, I don’t know, inhabited.
