Doesn’t that depend on the source of the electricity and the method of heat production for the boilers? I know electricity generation and transmission is more efficient than fossil fuel burning for boilers, but what if the boilers used heat pumps or another more efficient heating source?
A) While many of us are total morons at that age about a lot of things, by that point in your life most people know not to be hateful toward others. Even so, I will concede that we should be more forgiving of the things she said.
B) The point is not that she was too young to know what she said was wrong. The point is that she dated Elon while he was publicly and outwardly a batshit crazy Nazi. I don’t like gerrymandering in general, so I felt bad voting for it; but I also like that I was allowed to vote on something very important to the national political landscape.
This is one of those, “How can I support either of these groups?” situations.
On the surface, it is NYC being tolerant to other cultures and loving to drink and party versus upstate Puritans who want a single culture and no drinking or partying. But then you read more and it is NYC being pro-slavery because it makes them money, while the Puritans were anti-slavery because it was against their God.

The fingerprint reader works well. I don’t like using keypads much, but they do work well.
The smart doorbell hasn’t done much yet (and hopefully won’t ever be needed to do anything), but it is nice to be able to set my doorbell ring to be a fart sound. It is both funny and doesn’t make my dog bark at the doorbell.
The President isn’t elected in a popular vote, and small states in the middle of the county have vastly more relative voting power than states on the coasts? It isn’t that inland politicians are more authentic. It is that inland voters, who have double the voting power, choose to vote for people who ACT like salt of the earth, whether they are from a long-wealthy family or not. So if you act like a coastal elite, you are at a disadvantage compared to someone who acts like a cowboy even though they went to Yale. Or if you talk like a normal person and use complete sentences, you are at a disadvantage to someone who yells and screams about being a Christian even though they aren’t.
Yeah, remote HVAC is great. I also like the smart door lock that auto-unlocks as I walk up to it so I don’t need to deal with keys… though that doesn’t always great and I end up having to use the fingerprint reader to unlock it. It is still nice to be able to unlock the door remotely to let my neighbor bring in our packages while we’re gone or to feed the dog if I’m working late.
A) Bullshit. None of them have actually left yet. One is moving some companies’ headquarters. Another already moved 6 years ago. The third is just “increasing his presence.”
B) This isn’t even past the ballot proposal signature phase yet. Even if they did/do move, it has nothing to do with this tax.
C) This is 3 out of 255.
D) They don’t fucking pay taxes ANYWAY. We have lost nothing of value.

As much as I agree with this policy, I know it will never actually stick. Not only will he immediately walk it back once he gets the correct bribe from industry, but members of Congress on both sides would likely stand in unity to vote for some law to block this policy. I’m not anywhere close to a both sides person, but I haven’t heard very many Democrats asking for this type of law.
Why is ICE even armed? Maybe, and I’m just throwing it out here, but maybe immigration violations shouldn’t be worthy of a death sentence? And if an officer is in danger, maybe just de-escalate and go away until you can pull in trained personnel to handle potentially violent interactions.
You are surprised that a for-profit company that bills people on a RECURRING basis for a paid service keeps card numbers and billing addresses/names? How would recurring bills be paid if the info isn’t stored?
