I hold the middle ground. When set up properly, the services do tend to work just fine when left alone. Consumers often have automatic updates enabled, that is where shit hits the fan sometimes. I have had the issue of files disappearing. Fortunately, they reappeared some time after. Not sure what Microsoft was doing – we will never know.

Then consider that the baby born may one day become the scientist with the discovery to solve the crisis.

I still have to make the switch, have been keeping track of these topics a bit.

Right now, the shortlist I would make is:

• Bazzite (Easy to setup, preconfigured for gaming)
• Fedora (Good allrounder, well developed)
• Arch (For those who want full control and love to tinker)
