Companies don’t pay enough so the whole tax base is lower than it should be, and definitely need higher tax rates, like it was when so much of the country was built and funded publicly. Some claim to want those olden days again, and wouldn’t pay the full taxes anyway after all the deductions. Higher wages and if ever had healthcare for all, workers would have much better quality of life, less stress from scarcity, closer to EU benefits, but still not paid sick, family leave and vacation time at all jobs.
Enough workers must get better benefits than others, they say everyone can do the same, but it’s not true, and it’s an example of the selfishness that runs deep. Another example is when they see others with benefits they don’t have, they want it taken away, rather than realize they deserve it too. From the lore of “pioneers, explorers and the self-made who did it all on their own,” people today think they did too. Good for those that really did, and lots of hard workers for sure, but most had help in various ways they don’t recognize. I’m not sure if anything will get them to see the truth, since they rely so much on their team for identity, and it teaches them to stay in the basic right/wrong thinking and don’t want to think beyond that, too hard, and thinking is stoopid!
Dems will pass improvements to aca if enough majority to do it, but will get repealed when voters go back to maga. Need at least 8 years of Dem prez and enough majority to pass shit, that’s not blocked by courts, so people see they like it better than before and want to keep it. Healthcare for all costs less and healthier people, don’t lose with layoffs, but still not enough people care, or believe the propaganda against it. They have insurance they think is good, but it’s not if they understood the whole story, and what about others that don’t have the right job with “good insurance” and much easier to have universal healthcare and cut insurance out. Many industries and companies fade away and it’s time for the health insurance scam to fade.
I like the shaved ham so it’s easy to cut and tender, thinly sliced and browned some so it’s a little pile of ham delight, enrobed in the hollandaise sauce :P

It’s an old system underfunded for decades, cycled more than it was designed to handle, held together with what DOE officials told GAO are “Band-Aids.” The loan mechanism solves the pricing problem, but it doesn’t solve the fact that the physical infrastructure is eating itself with every cycle.

I think so too unfortunately. Even if Dems win a majority, how much, and w/o executive can’t change much. Then get blamed they had hearings for 2 years rather than unite and fix all the damage, that the bad choices last election caused/made worse, but no awareness of that.
Much easier and faster to destroy things than build, but tiktok feeds won’t mention that, and will convince enough to make the bad choices again. I hope I’m wrong and people show up and elect Dems with enough majority, for enough time, to make the changes people claim to want. It can’t be done if every other cycle destroys the progress Dems make when they ever have enough majority, and people don’t realize all this and think vote the other way to fix what they “feel” is wrong. Right/wrong thinking, it’s part of why we’re regressing.

Hopefully, if too many aren’t too strongly indoctrinated and identified with the team against unions and better worker benefits. Workers in other countries have benefits at all jobs, and they would never go back to the lack of benefits that usa workers accept. Workers here like to feel special that they have a job with “good benefits” that others don’t have so they prefer that. It’s part of the “pioneer, cowboy, self-made” story, but in reality it’s the same selfish and greed that runs deep and they’re proud of it.
They’re scrolling tiktok and whatever feeds them a constant supply of propaganda, to numb the pain of life, caused by the controlling systems they support, as a team sport, identity their fragile egos are too weak to choose to change. That takes too much courage and integrity.
