Human social memory is too short to remember the horrors of disease before vaccines
Innocent children are dying because the adults around them were too insulated from these diseases to understand the severity of them
How many will need to die before we accept vaccines again?
In an ideal world, we’d get everybody vaccinated, the disease would go extinct like smallpox, and we wouldn’t see the vaccine again outside of limited military preparedness needs.
We got soo close to that with this one.

We have clear social memory of The Sound of Music (1965). There were 300,000 cases of measles that year.
The question is which memes, songs, and stories we nurture and spread in society, versus which are neglected.
