I just find they’re overplayed, overrated, and kind of cringey.
Ska is one of my go to genres, a favorite, but I wish Sublime would go away. Every time I hear them I can’t get their songs out of my head for much longer than I would like. Every time.
I also used to hear them way too much in a place outside the US, which outside of shitty pop music was one of those “American” bands or whatever they thought, so bars played them. A lot.

Saying you like ska but not Sublime is like saying you like pizza but not dough with sauce and cheese on top.
I’m sorry but while Sublime made some good music they are not the blueprint for ska
Weird take. I’m not a fan of third wave but two tone and old Jamaican kick ass. More like you can’t understand how someone would not like pizza with triple cheese and some cheese shavings on top as third wave was way to cheesy…
Sublime is a lot closer to two tone and first wave than it is to RBF or Less Than Jake
And?
Save Ferris!
It’s funny, if you were a friend of mine you’d generally hear me say I can’t stand ska. But Sublime? Loved them. And Folly, of course, probably one of my favorite bands of all time, although they’re super unique. Can’t stand ska, but there’s always an exception.
