Different flavors of rightwing baggery. Corin Nemec was always a conspiracy theory nutjob (which was reportedly why he was difficult to work with on set and partially led to the producers asking Michael Shanks back to replace him), and it got publicly worse after COVID. Richard Ayoade made a number of anti-trans statements, or showed support for someone who was known for that.
Thanks for the link. Definitely disappointing. Could be worse. I would not offer Linehan unconditional support of any sort. It would always be on the condition of pointing out he’s a terf bigot. I can technically agree that Linehan is a good writer. I’ve enjoyed a lot of the things he’s written in the past. But I could care less what he’s currently doing or will be doing. As long as he continues to chose to be a bigot. And I definitely expected better of Ayoade. I’m guessing he feels bad that Linehan ruined his future career prospects. And is trying to help? This ain’t the way to help.
Different guy who made father Ted and quite alot of other good British media turned out to be a transphobic piece of shit. Wrote a new book, and aoyade gave his voice to the cover praising it.
Its an accosiation thing. If you sit at a table with a transphobe, compliment that transport, and publicly put your name behind a transphobe, I think we can reduce your opinion in trans people.
To me it’s not unforgivable, but I default to the likely answer. Guy probably hates trans people
At least Chris O’Dowd is pretty wholesome and so is his very unknown Irish tv show Moone Boy.
His Black Mirror episode “Common People” is genuinely one of the best non-horror, societal commentary episodes of the show.
Puffin Rock is great, too
What did either of those two do?

Why do we hate Aoyade?
