Games@lemmy.world•New Fable game removes feature core to franchise's DNAEnglish
121·8 hours agoI don’t think the headline is fair at all. I think it’s there, just reimagined. And personally I think it sounds really cool. If I want the old system, I can play the old games.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•New to Tailscale. Can I use it along with my own DNS and NPM to access my services externally using my existing internal custom domain?English
2·1 day agoI’m not an expert, take this with a very big grain of salt.
But I think what you want here is for your home server tailscale to act as an exit node for your remote connection.
This will mean that your phone for example will route traffic through your home server, using its AdGuard DNS.
You can even set it up to conditionally use it as an exit mode, iirc.
Actually insane.
Excited, but never preorder. Hope performance on PC isn’t garbage.

Games@lemmy.world•Why are people still romanticizing No Man’s Sky’s “redemption” arc?English
281·4 days agoand somehow it wins “Best Ongoing Building” every year.
Except it doesn’t. It’s been nominated for Stream’s Labour of Love award six times in the past ten years, and never won it. In fact it’s never won any Steam Awards. It won Best Ongoing at the Game Awards twice, out of a decade of being ongoing, and it won a similar award from PC Gamer once.

Great visual and anecdotally I wholly agree.
There’s much more to GDQ than that, for the record! Of course it’s all about going fast, yes, but there are categories that don’t allow glitches, 100% runs that even with glitches showcase a lot of the game, and on the main events they have been including more and more showcase runs. My favourite this past AGDQ was the Super Mario 64 70 Star, 70 Person relay.
