Though usually shit still goes wrong in another unforseen and wildly unexpected way.
I have a very anxious friend that over prepares for everything. If anything goes wrong even slightly she has a total meltdown and starts arguments with everyone around her. Takes days to calm down.
Another friend of mine is far more optimistic in planning. If things go wrong they stay calm and are able to endure inconvenience or physical discomfort for a while. They are hopeful even when everything falls apart.
The first is filled with fear of their own emotions and unable to name and process them. The second is far better at feeling, naming, expressing, and processing their emotions.
If the addage “what can go wrong, will go wrong” was actually true, the planet would have been annihilated by some cosmic explosion billions of years ago.
Unless… Human existence is what could go wrong… 🤔
I keep asking my self: What mindset was required to plan and execute the Apollo missions. You didn’t have any data or experience of what could possible go wrong so you had to “wing it” in many situations.
You’re always so anxious.
Yeah, and I still go out and do shit in spite of it. At least I’m making an effort. Don’t invite me if it’s a problem for you.
Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face.
I made good money as a product manager by stressing about every damn thing.
This picture makes me start a conversation with my own mind. It’s gonna take me ages to end the conversation now.
