Don’t forget to bring bottles of water and something to put over tear gas canisters so you can douse and extinguish them if/when they start flying.
Get yourself a first aid qualification, and especially if you’re in America get on a stopthebleed course to learn how to deal with more serious injuries (also very useful for urbex people because of the whole risk of broken glass/sharp metals causing serious wounds etc)
Gas masks that have eye protection built in are worth their weight in gold, but bulky. A good pair of impact/ballistic rated goggles and a half face mask can do the job for cheaper, but you run the risk of semi unprotected eyes.
As an aside you’ll also want to cover as much skin as you can with layers that can be removed.
Motorcycle jeans with aramid (kevlar is just dupont’s brand name) in the knees/hips/waist/outer leg also provide good protection without being hugely bulky/restrictive.
Note: Protecting just your face when covered with easily identifiable tattoos and not covering them, isn’t the best OpSec
What if you use temporary tattoos?
whether you’re covered in permanent, temporary, or no tattoos you should cover your arms, legs, and back so that your entire group remains anonymous and can disperse and blend in with a crowd in the event that the police attempt to kettle you. wear nondescript clothing that covers your body and is easy to run in
Tyvek suits are relatively cheap and do a fantastic job of protecting your skin AND are easy to get out of.
Still very easy to track around during the entire time? A lot more identifiable than just wearing nondescript black or similar.
