The EU are considering placing embargoes on US imports.
All of Europe is pivoting towards China.
Canada is pivoting towards China.
Australia is pivoting towards China.
We don’t want to do business with an authoritarian dictatorship, but if its a choice between an authoritarian who is a demented rapist who keeps threatening us, and one who can be relied upon to be a consistent and fairly reliable partner then I know which I prefer.
America is quickly sliding into irrelevance. Soon it’ll be left with a single ally, Israel.
Also note that the EU has just signed a free-trade agreement with Mercosur, meaning that the EU and pretty much all of South America are pivoting trade away from the USA towards each other. Conveniently, that should also make both of them less reliant on China.
