MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Minnesota National Guard was mobilized on Saturday afternoon to support local law enforcement and emergency management agencies, according to an announcement from the Minnesota Department of Public Safety (DPS).

This development occurs amid the , referred to as “Operation Metro Surge” by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

DHS officials are reporting the operation as a major success, citing the arrests of the “worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens from Minnesota neighborhoods” including alleged thieves, drug traffickers and fraud perpetrators. Recent DHS statements have also claimed that Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Mayor Jacob Frey “refuse to cooperate with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and have released nearly 470 criminal illegal aliens” from custody.

Governor Walz, who directed the Minnesota National Guard to mobilize on Saturday, made a statement earlier in the week criticizing the intentions behind this latest crackdown operation in his state.

You think Tim.Walz is going to use the National Guard against the protestors? The entire point of him calling them to duty is to protect the protestors

Minnesota DPS noted that the National Guard will not be deployed to the streets of Minneapolis at this time, but units will remain on standby, ready to help maintain public safety and protect peaceful protestors gathering within the Twin Cities.

Police and national guard have routinely made protestors’ lives hell since forever. It’s not a stretch of the imagination.

As someone who was in the MN guard, I think the guard itself will use itself against the protesters. The best of them will feel cornered. The worst will feel given an opportunity for backstabbing.

So they’re going to detain or arrest anyone who even gets in a scuffle or attempts vandalism.

The National Guard will mostly just be standing around next to local law enforcement to back them up, but if shit actually pops off they will use as much force as they’re authorized and equipped for.

If the MN National Guard take any action against ICE, that is insurrection. Trump would have the legal right and duty to send in the US Army to suppress it.

Do you believe Governor Walz has decided he’s ready to start the Second American Civil War? Because if you don’t, then the only reason Walz has to call up the National Guard is to suppress citizens, with explicit orders to do nothing that interferes with ICE.
