It’s literally his own words, that have been reported on my multiple outlets, not Fox misrepresenting his words after-the-fact.

Did you not read the articles? Or watch the interview? Or do you also not support abolishing ICE?

“Well sure they’re fascists absolutely renowed for their manipulative interview tactics and being a borderline nazi propaganda outlet, but I don’t understand why you aren’t just accepting that they clearly didn’t do that this time”

That’s a really bad argument you’re peddling there, buddy.

Is your point that the mayor is a Nazi? Because again, and I don’t get why you can’t comprehend this, they are his own words.

If your point is that he’s a Nazi because his doesn’t support the abolition of ICE, then I wouldn’t really disagree. That’s why I likened it to an American version of liberal Zionism.

If your point is that he’s not liable for his own words because he said them on Fox, you’re an idiot.

I’ve clarified my point repeatedly, you’re welcome to engage with that. Until then, alas, barbs cast by those who unquestioningly accept Fox News’ narratives don’t really… matter to me.

If Fox wanted to misrepresent his views, they’d cut out the ‘don’t’ and claim he does support abolishing ICE. That’s beneficial to their goal to claiming opposition is by domestic terrorists.

Your grasp of media literacy is impressively nonexistent. Because again, they are verbatim the Mayor’s words. Not taken out of context.

I’ve never claimed they weren’t the mayors words - I have claimed that fox news has a history of lies, manipulative interviews and outright misrepresentation, and that your willingness to accept the narrative they give you unquestioningly, ignoring all the other ways for an interview to be manipulated in favor of arbitrary thresholds you set yourself, is you know, not a good way to approach this topic.

And I really, really, really cannot stress enough how flat it falls when someone uncritically accepting the narrative presented by Fox News attempts to insult me for my grasp on media literacy.

              I mean, seriously.

The Hill: Frey was asked about his position during an appearance on “Fox & Friends” with co-host Griff Jenkins on Fox News.
Medialite: Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey (D) declared he does not support abolishing ICE in a preview of a Fox News interview set to air on Wednesday morning.
Huffpost: Mayor Jacob Frey has a blunt message for the people who were offended by him telling Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to “get the fuck out of Minneapolis.”
Washington Post: When asked during a CNN interview to respond to GOP criticism, Frey was unapologetic: “I’m so sorry if I offended their Disney princess ears.”

I’m sorry, are these the articles you meant to link to? The first two literally (and fairly uncritically, I might add) just quote the Fox interview in question. The other two, well:

You’ve provided ZERO evidence that his view on not supporting the abolition is ICE is misrepresented. So stop running defence for a fucked up position

I don’t really think I need to do that now, given you just provided two excellent examples that your/Fox’s characterization of him isn’t accurate all on your own. (also they both don’t reference the above interview at all. Seriously were those the right ones?)

Look, quittin’ in a huff has always been an option for you - and lets be honest, at this point crawling off in shame really looks like the best outcome you’re going to get with this. I welcome it, have a good time, give my fondest regards to your friends the fox news hosts.
