I recently wrote an essay exploring why I believe science and religion are inherently incompatible at a fundamental level. This isn’t just about creationism vs. evolution. It’s about truth-seeking, evidence, and dogma.
As a LaVeyan Satanist, I approach this from a position that prioritizes rationality, indulgence, and self-honesty over faith and obedience. The essay challenges the popular narrative that the two can peacefully coexist without contradiction.
I’d love to hear opposing views or additions, whether you agree, disagree, or want to expand on it.
Here’s the full essay on Substack (no paywall):

I’m ooking forward to the discussion.

Witchcraft, Mysticism, Druidry, folk religions, Humanism, Satanism…
You can read about a few more here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nontheistic_religion
However, I do not accept your assertion that gods and devils = good and bad. If you want to start talking about “good and bad,” you’ll have to define what you mean.
Incorrect. Atheism does not mean you don’t believe in religions. Atheism means you lack a belief in any gods. Religion is not synonymous with theism or deism. Either you believe in gods or you don’t; what else you believe in or practice on top of that is separate from the question, “Do gods exist?”
Do they not all believe in some creatures that some powers more than our species, yes they do. Pretty good definitions of gods & devils. By the way I mentioned Devils, that includes Satanism.
Good- Work with-for our species & other species’ living they determine & Bad- Work against our species & other species’ living unhappy lives.
Since Wikipedia allows information to be changed, I only trust, thus use their whistleblowing stuff. I DuckDuckGoed it & got The American Atheist & The American Humanist websites, which means The American Atheist believe in even more than saying they do not believe in Gods, but they reject whether it matters if they exist- https://www.atheists.org/activism/resources/about-atheism/.
With that being Atheism is just enough for me, because I hate religions need for supernatural Beings, every single one of them.
Humanism is a not religion, just like Atheism is not a religion. My whole family, of three-generations have never believed in any religion. My cousin is a huge Humanism believer & huge non-believer in any religion. So I have always known that Humanism has never been a religion. The American Humanist website says is philosophy- https://americanhumanist.org/what-is-humanism/definition-of-humanism/.
