First of all: the school children losing their lives is at best a horrible accident and at worst a war crime that Netanyahu can add to the list of things he’ll have to answer for someday.

Second of all: no the videos of Iranians celebrating the death of their oppressor is not AI. That is real. Or are you going to also suggest that the live interviews of Iranians living in my country of Denmark being interviewed on the street while celebrating and yelling and waving their flag, is also AI? Was it AI back during the protests against the murder of Mahsa Amini when Iranians all over the world spoke openly about the oppressive regime and how it specifically targets women over and over and over? They spoke about being freed from their oppression back then too. They have been blocked by the regime, cut off from internet access and journalists have been arrested and murdered by the regime when they tried to report on what was happening in Iran.

You cannot pretend like the horrors of this regime isn’t real just because it throws a wrench into the world view you prefer. This situation is complex and multifaceted and the Iranian people’s suffering and subsequent hope and joy is real. If you can dismiss it with accusations of it being AI, then it tells me everything I need to know about how little of Iran’s recent history you know about.
