      They teach troops that sort of thing because it’s better than death by dehydration but, no, urine has been shown not to be sterile repeatedly.

      Turns out Dodgeball was not medically accurate. And if urine isn’t sterile, it makes you wonder what else they lied about. Did Patches O’Houlihan not actually like the taste of his own urine? Is there really a link between wrench dodging ability and ball dodging ability? Was it, in fact, a bold strategy, Cotton?

        Even if it was sterile, that still doesn’t mean “safe to drink”. Lots of sterile things will kill you.

        Now, Bear Grylls taught us that in this case, yes, you can drink urine in an emergency. But prefacing it with “it’s sterile!” is both inaccurate and meaningless to the conclusion.
