Business leaders affiliated with AI companies and TikTok and family members of people accused of federal crimes were among those who made big donations to MAGA Inc.

Those contributions came at a time when Trump’s super PAC wasn’t spending on elections, of course, but as Trump was governing or preparing to govern in the year-plus after he won.

And while Trump maintains a large and loyal base of longtime supporters and donors, some of the brand-new financial backers have specific business interests in front of the federal government, important contracts with federal agencies or companies in sectors that could face dramatic shifts due to federal policies.

Others had relatives facing years in federal prison.

God, there’s so much wrong with the reality behind that headline. Megadonors shouldn’t be a thing. Donors with major business before the government should especially not be megasized because of the conflict of interest. Super PACs shouldn’t exist. The president should not have a Super PAC

While fascism is typically understood as a far-right, authoritarian nationalist ideology, it also had a complex and sometimes symbiotic relationship with capitalism and corporate interests. In many cases, corporations enabled, supported, or directly collaborated with fascist governments for profit, protection, and privilege.

why do you think they want to erase the holocaust from history, even as they call everyone they don’t like “anti-semitic”?

I really dislike this insinuated detachment of capitalism from the right.

Capitalism is inherently a right-wing ideology, placing control of the means of production into the hands of individuals and corporations, for the benefit of the individual/corporation. Individualism and corporatism in turn are core tenets of (alt)right politics.

Now it’s one thing that the US Overton window shifted so much to the right that what were once borderline radical right-wing policies, are considered today to be “commie libtard ideology”… But that doesn’t change the fact that capitalism is inherently right-wing. So of course fascists would heavily rely on it. After all it gives them both control and plausible deniability of said control.
