Technology@lemmy.world•After unveiling ridiculously expensive AR glasses, Snap's stock takes a diveEnglish
1·2 days agoDepends on the software part. If there will be freedom of compiling\installing arbitrary software then yes. I’m sure in this case it would be full of very interesting things in no time. But if it would be “fenced” like META does with their VR headsets, then those glasses would be almost useless.

26·2 days agoPeople do not hate glasses. All that hatred exists only in small hysteria bubble. Put a $100 price on them and in a few days half of people would use them.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•money should have a expiration date too stop hoarders
3·2 days agoYes, only already rich should have an ability to use capital. Peons should be stripped of even theoretical possibility to get any capital-tier sum. Only gas and bread money.

11·5 days agoTrump: Your dealmaker abilities are laughable. You can’t predict even a half-step forward. But I can. Look: I sign peace with Iran and ditch Israel who made things complicated a few times recently. That ditching with pay itself in a year max!

15·9 days agoYes. It would cost a few times more. And it will stand for x100 times longer. And it has good thermal insulation. And a bullet insulation too :)

It doesn’t have a strict “X mm” norms but reglaments a noice propagation. Of course it would take some calculation to translate it into millimeters of brick or concrete, but obviously ultra-thin bullet-penetrable walls won’t fit into this standard.

Games@lemmy.world•Thief: The Dark Project Remastered - Reveal TrailerEnglish
63·13 days agoModern players who never played original won’t play this remaster: it would feel too archaic by modern standards. And Nightdive’s conservative approach doesn’t address this nuance in any way.

Games@lemmy.world•Thief: The Dark Project Remastered - Reveal TrailerEnglish
195·13 days agoWe already have a community maintained newDark engine. Don’t see any reason for the commercial remaster. Especially from Nightdive. Their remasters are boring. They avoid improvements unless it is inevitable. Their recent System Shock 2 (Thief 1 engine by the way) remaster was… the same game community made a decade ago. Boring.

So Kansas really believes in 300 billion? They believe that Trump will give anyone money? I suggest to rename Kansas in Dumbass when they get tired of being called Iran.
