Though you’re correct, Merriam Webster makes it seem that “hung” is fine here too.
I actually dig a slightly coy lead up and I’m good with the implication of sex, or just the very beginning. But then you can just cut to the next scene; I know how it works.
I really hate sex scenes that are complete with fake as pounding and moaning; get that outta here. I don’t mind nudity in the least though.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are some good media that un-glorify conflict?
9·3 days agoI think most even slightly accurate war movies don’t really glorify the war bit. Two recommendations.
There is a film A24 distributed last year called Warfare that follows a very accurate telling of a single operation of a platoon in Ramadi. It is pretty grim, but really gives a sense of just how brutal it can be for a small group. A lot of movies show slaughter at scale, like beaches of Normandy. That is always fascinating and dark too, but it slightly diminishes the struggle of the individuals. This does not.
Another recommendation is Tora! Tora! Tora!; an absolute classic from 1970. This movie shows you many of the mistakes and oversights, big and small that led to the Pearl Harbor attack being so crippling. Aside from huge ship and air guns there aren’t many guns. I think many people would enjoy it at the moment because it shows the USA on the rout.

8·4 days agoI agree generally. The question, though, of when to act has a different answer for each person’s context.

252·4 days agoYou do it, tough guy. Some people are risking a bit just to protest to make these scumbags know they aren’t welcome. They aren’t all ready yet to throw their lives away starting a war with the Stasi.

45·5 days agoNo. He has an obsession with being really dumb.
Somebody should shop in Lisan al-Gaib from the DUNE poster with the cloak blowing in the wind.
Okay, fair enough. When you said, “Unfortunately when he does that, it’s about names of the buildings” I sort of misread that as a slight more generally, but I understand better now. Anyway, I find myself asking myself the following.
What are they to do, beyond organizing the biggest upset in history? Seriously, very little of what the democrat caucus is doing in either house is being even discussed, let alone brought for voting. No doubt heads should be rolling, but there just isn’t a feature in our broken ass government for that to happen until the adults have the conn again.
Yeah, that’s all Senator Sanders has contributed in nearly 5 decades of public service, civil architecture. And he certainly isn’t doing anything else currently.
I get the frustration, but there are very few congress members that have worked for the people harder and many others to which directing one’s ire would make more sense.
He is doing a lot of organizing and speaking without hesitation. I’m not sure what you feel he should be doing. His caucus doesn’t currently have much power.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is your favorite thing about being a parent?
26·7 days agoDon’t get me wrong, it is very trying and requires a ton of resources in time, money, and patience. But… developing a person is a neat experience. It is good for evaluating your own thoughts as they form their own. It is genuinely fun often. They are varying degrees of hilarious throughout childhood. They bring pride. They are often good interlocutors and they love. Hopefully they contribute to the world.
In addition, it has a big impact on social life, which can be good. You meet other people, have a good idea of how the world is from the perspective of youth, and you participate in events one otherwise wouldn’t.
Makes it pretty clear how badly the democrats have alienated the people with constant misstep after misstep. If only there were a left party for many of those independents to call home, rather than a right party and a further right, authoritarian party.

To include the neutrino in a conversation about things “with some mass” borders on silly. But hey, factually correct and all that. May as well include electrons.
