I’m sorry but if my child was attending a school in Minnesota and ICE was “circling” it looking for children to traffic I would be standing out front with a gun in hand all day.

if you’re playing FFXIV, especially on Linux, don’t bother with the official launcher/updater. Use XIVLauncher, hell even use that if you’re playing on Windows. Updates a hell of a lot faster plus you also get the dalamud stuff which adds a few quality of life plugin improvements.
It was slow but in a way more connected if that makes sense. There was more awe and more exciting things because you literally had to search for content or get it word of mouth from your friends. Communities were more inclusive and you generally knew who you were talking to online be via ICQ, AOL Instant Messenger, mIRC, or web forums/chat rooms.
I had friends from all over the world. people I knew on a first name basis that I had never met in person at all. and we all knew each other. either because we all played the same game together, we were in the same gaming clan, or we all had a similar interest in some random hobby/fandom. We’d talk on ICQ or AOL IM. We’d hang out all day in IRC and talk or just post stuff on the forums. We’d buy each other christmas and birthday presents. I remember one time a few of us in our group all pooled our money together to buy another in our friend group an Xbox cause he couldn’t afford one. My mom would naturally get concerned when I’d get packages in the mail on my birthday or christmas from places half way across the world. Guy I knew that lived in Mexico (i’m in Canada) bought me Audioslaves first album cause he figured I’d really like it. Just awesome stuff like that. You don’t get that these days.
Like for example right now I’m replying to your comment on this site. Back in my day if I were to do something like that there’s a good chance I would actually know you.
That’s what being social on the internet was like back then. It was way better. it was more carefree and fun. It was innocent.

I wouldn’t call this a victory. I’d call this a “re-evaluation”. they’ve invested way too much into AI/LLMs to simply drop it because users don’t like any of it. They’re simply going to pivot and come at this shit from a different angle.

I have to wonder what the end goal here is for Ubisoft. you got people leaving in droves, people leaving and forming their own studios and producing games that are quite literally games of the year, and they’re axing people left right and center.
And lets not kid ourselves this company is essentially the cockroach of gaming, how it’s still alive in 2026 is in it’s own right quite the achievement. I can’t even recall the last good Ubisoft game I played.

well to be fair you don’t even need to look at the md since right at the top it says it’s built with loveable.

exactly. And keep it mind it was ALL released within like a week or two of Reloaded. I was working at Best Buy when the sequel came out so I remember. Animatrix if I remember correctly literally released a few days prior to Reloaded. Hell I think Enter The Matrix released the exact same day.

I think the issue with the sequels was there was quite a bit of lore to consume and you honestly didn’t get the full picture if you only watched reloaded and resurrections.
What I mean by this is that the Wachowskis were very much involved in pretty much everything that involved the matrix be it the animatrix, the video games, or the comics and encyclopedia. So with the sequels in particular if you wanted to at least try and get a grasp on what was happening you pretty much had to watch at least the first 3 shorts of the Animatrix and especially “Kids Story” and play Enter The Matrix as they were all official canon and in many cases important to the story. So I mean unless you were a die hard Matrix fan you probably weren’t going to watch the animatrix or play the game then you might be left in the dark.
Like for example the “Kid” that is introduced in reloaded. He makes a big deal out of being saved to which Neo, says twice, that he didn’t save him and that the kid saved himself. It’s not expanded on in the movies. So you’re thinking “ok…maybe Neo is doubting his nature of being the one” but we know he isn’t as he openly flaunts his power within the Matrix. It’s not until you watch the Animatrix Short “Kids Story” which explains WHY Neo says that Kid saved himself and then it opens up an entire can of worms that actually helps you understand the ending of Reloaded and Revolutions. Kids Story is so damn pivotal to the overall lore of the Matrix and most people have never even seen nor heard of it.
I’m not even joking. The Animatrix is absolutely a must watch if you want to understand the Matrix movies.
As far as Resurrections goes…yeah it didn’t serve a purpose other than Lana utilizing it as a form to cope with her parents deaths and to at least have a bit of control over her series as Warner Brothers was going to move forward with a sequel regardless if she and/or sister were involved or not. And again it’s another part of the overall lore which you won’t truly get unless you played The Matrix Online as it borrows quite a few elements/plot points from that. But the story itself is by far the weakest out of all of them as it simply didn’t need to happen. like, at all. And even by the end of the movie you realize this because absolutely NOTHING changes. Nothing. No one wins, no one loses, things don’t change. Everything is the exact same except Neo and Trinity are awake instead of sleeping. that’s it.

yeah it’s to the point now where if I see emojis in the readme.md on the repo I just don’t even bother.

next thing you know they’re going to reveal that Epstein was the one that suggested paying for horse armor in Oblivion.
Hell he probably put a hit out on Harambe too.

I think Anthropic has done a good enough job of poisoning Claude themselves within the past 4 to 5 months or so.

Wildzero.
You’ve probably never heard of it but you should watch it. if you’re in your 20s and have the liver of a god then also try the drinking game.
It’s a Japanese film from the late 90s/early 00s that stars the Japanese Rockabilly band “Guitar Wolf”. the band consists of the lead, Guitar Wolf, as well as Bass Wolf and Drum Wolf. The film is ahead of its time, especially for Japan, as far as current social issues. I can’t say which ones specifically as that would spoil the movie.
The film is centered around a fan of Guitar Wolf that wants to be as big a star as them. It is also a zombie movie. How the zombies came to be is believe to be from aliens but doesn’t really specify how exactly. Nor does it specify the aliens intents and purposes but they’re in the movie just…they’re in the movie. There’s also at least like 3 subplots that don’t go anywhere or really have any effect on the overall movie.
It’s awesome.

As a NixOS user…yeah don’t recommend it. Don’t get me wrong I absolutely adore NixOS but suggesting people switch to it when their current distro works perfectly fine for them is a disservice.
NixOS makes the hard things easy, and the easy things hard. It’s incredibly frustrating trying to get something that should be insanely easy to work on NixOS. A good example of which is Neovim with Lazyvim. on every other distro it’s not a big deal, it should be easy to install right? on NixOS you’ll be pulling your hair out trying to get the meson tree-sitter crap to work correctly. Or you’ll find stuff that has been specifically re-packaged or put into a flake to work for NixOS. ok that’s fine, that’ll work on SOME peoples configurations but if yours is ever so slightly more unique it won’t. And then you start to wonder and question if your configuration is wrong but the thing is with NixOS there’s no right or wrong with the configuration. Some people will suggest you use flakes, some people will say don’t bother. Some will say you should put every single thing in modules, some will say don’t bother.
So the problem is with NixOS is that when you start using it and understanding it going to another distro feels like you’re somehow reverting. BUT there’s the potential issue of getting stuck in the rabbit hole that is constant NixOS configuration adjustments to try and get that most perfect and smooth config out of your system. Currently I’m on Arch because I’m taking a “vacation” from NixOS. I have some important projects that are due soon and I just needed to get into a distro that will allow me to focus on them. In a couple weeks time however I know I’ll be back on NixOS.

I actually haven’t tried that, it’s a great suggestion and I’ll give it a shot!

I wanted to be a comic book artist. I can draw, I don’t do it as often as I should, and I’m not bad at it. I wanted to make comic books, get them published at an independent level, and maybe someone would read them. I could just never finish anything I started. I’d have all these great ideas for a story but I would just end up word vomiting them on a page and didn’t know how to expand on it or draw it out. Same thing when I’d try to write a story/novel. How could I create something with several chapters when I just spew everything out within a few pages. So I gave up.

possibly? I’m not sure. I know it was launched in the fall of 2011 shortly after the docs say he met with Epstein. Then apparently moot turned down a second meeting the following January. so maybe /pol/ also went away then? can’t remember.

no Moot left the site in Jan of 2015 and handed operation over to like a few 4chan mods while he was looking for a buyer. I remember his last Q&A on the site after the fact. /pol/ launched in 2011.

I’m old enough to remember that when a Starbucks opened up in a part of the city that was known as being “slightly sketchy” then that area was in the process of starting to go through gentrification. now? at least here in Canada Starbucks is just a more expensive version of Tim Hortons who have some how made it possible for their coffee to taste worse than tims. And that gentrification stuff? nah man no longer applies. You’d be an idiot to go to a starbucks and pulling out your laptop to “work” these days as some fent head will just grab it off you after they wake up from their fade hunched over near the starbucks restrooms.
At this point Epstein is the new “6 degrees of Kevin Bacon”.
you can pretty much tie ANYONE to Epstein so the media is just going to be slapping everyone and their grandmas names in headlines for ad revenue clickbait. Wouldn’t surprise me if an article comes out claiming “Jesus Christ named in new Epstein Files”
