Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What kind of car do you drive, and what kind do you wish you did?
1·12 days agoThe current BMW X1 (Diesel). It’s my company car and MAN I hate it, or rather the endless stream of problems with the infotainment system.
I’m currently thinking about going back to a privately owned car. The Hyundai Inster seems nice and affordable.
edit: I also own a VW T3 oldtimer, but it needs quite a bit of work to be done, especially on the lower chassis.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What cultural programming have you overcome?
4·16 days agoI grew up in a rural environment in the 90s and early 2000s where it was perfectly normal to use “gay” with a negative connotation. The kind of environment where homosexuality was weird and every guy 13+ had to constantly prove he wasn’t gay or get angry getting called so.
I was fortunate enough to move away from there and meet new people and ideas.
I remember one turning point specifically. I was chatting with some people and used “gay” to describe some product I didn’t like, without thinking about it all, no ill intent. Later one of the guys took me aside and asked me if I realised I said that while a gay friend was standing right by. It couldn’t give a good answer in that moment but it gave me something to think about and I apologized later. He took it like a champ and I’m much more conscious about language since.
The fastest charge in the West.
It does, the launcher and updates, too.
If that helps I just got a Aoostar WTR Pro (Ryzen version) to replace my NAS. But I had 2x 16GB RAM left so that was pretty cheap for a rather powerful home NAS. With 8c/16T abf two 2.5Gb NIC it’s powerful enough to replace a small hypervisor.
BUT careful, while it has quickswap slots the hardware itself doesn’t support it.
Kinda. I always treated my place like a workshop with a bed and computer in it.
After moving to a new place I tried to be an adult, get more furniture, hang artworks and such.
In the end I don’t really like my place. I rarely use the living room part and my tech stuff isn’t as reachable and practically organized as before. In hindsight I should have sticked to what I want for a home.
