  • Here in Canada in Ontario, up until about five years ago, they used to sell panettone everywhere during Christmas … grocers used to stock them everywhere and about four or five different brands. Cheaper ones came in all plastic wrapping and more expensive ones came wrapped in plastic and contained in fancy decorative cardboard boxes. And back then, we had the choice of size and they were usually large sized.

Now we have limited supplies and the displays for them are even hard to find. We only have one brand now ‘Massimo’ and they are more the smaller size. Every year now, all my Italian Canadian friends go on a frenzy looking for them … as soon as they come out, they disappear.

Don’t know what happened to the supply but we don’t see much of them any more.

  • Hitler? … What are you talking about? … we need to have full blown genocidal war, concentration camps where millions are murdered every day, mass military invasions of countries, nuclear war and complete lawlessness throughout the land with people murdering, raping and mutilating each other … anything less than that is not yet Hitler.

So stop your alarmism all the time, it’s not yet Hitler.

Praise sentimentality … I’ve done my best to maintain and keep running almost every laptop, tablet, phone and PC I’ve ever owned. A few just died because of dead main boards, short circuits or mechanical failure. The ones that work are all gathering dust in the closet, basement or storage space but they all work. I use one as a reader, one is parked next to the couch so I have access to a laptop while watching TV, one’s in the basement workshop, one gets moved to the garage in the springtime and the rest just sit on the ready for whenever I think of using them.
