i should’ve said like 10x faster lol. even by core counts it’s 4x and for ram 12x.

thanks, i already know about voyager. i use boost and voyager on mobile which both has support for piefed. the problem is mlmym, i really prefer the old reddit styled ui on desktop but there’s no equivalent for piefed.

having more ram and faster machine overall, i’ve lived with a 2008 laptop woth 2gb ram 5400rpm hdd and core2duo capped to 1.2ghz thinking it’s okayish since i run a highly optimized linux setup, it wasn’t. upgrade to a faster machine with ssd and everything literally made my system run twice as faster than before.

tbh i prefer the older design. seems like this is based on conversations.im?

it’s most likely an unpaid fan doing it
mlmym, gives me the old reddit interface. it’s unmaintained sadly.

there’s no equivalent that has all those people in it. maybe instagram or twitter but it’s not any better obviously :(
it seems like piefed is gaining more features and is better on the server (lower resource uaage)
i’d like to switch, but the lemmy clients i use don’t support it…
do you reinstall your system often? i installed my system in 2022 right after slackware 15.0 released, never reinstalled since. even when switching hardware i just have to update/modify the kernel, nothing else.
i think they used to have anime girl mascots, not sure if win11 has one tho.

i never used either bitchat or briar, but i heard briar needs initial pairing between devices to chat while bitchat just works with any people around you. if this is true bitchat could be more useful for spreading info i guess.

awesome! i hope this stays around.
would be nice if it also saved/archived everything it downloads from instagram and sends it to the internet archive

there are downloader tools available for both qobuz and tidal, so you can have your music library mirrored locally too

great machine, much more powerful than my aging thinkpads and dell precision…
don’t use win11 on it tho, use linux or if really needed win10 enterprise iot ltsc 21h2

do you see a pen shaped icon after expanding quick settings? or three dots?

you can’t really “increase” quality, but you can get a higher res version or find one.
use this to find the highest res url, there’s also a firefox addon https://qsniyg.github.io/maxurl/
using tineye/yandex/google reverse image search is also helpful

I mean you can say it’s “insecure” since Google stopped providing security patches. I don’t really care much tho, I don’t keep confidential stuff on my phone, I’m not that much of a valuable target and I’ll be pwned anyway if I get targeted due to bad opsec. I’d say my phone running Android 11 with root and everything is much more “private” than most normal Android 16 phones since I have stuff like AdAway and AfWall. Android 11 still works for most apps, I’ve never seen anything not supported.

tbh JB 4.1~4.3 was the best. Had real performance improvements over ICS (project butter), KK had some weird stuff like the new sdcard policy.
wish i can still use it, but even firefox ditched support so…

android 11 is more like win10, it has lots of built in bs that can mostly be mitigated. i’d say win7 = android 7~8, and 4.1~4.4 for xp…
i’m still rocking android 11, never upgrading… hopefully i can switch to a linux phone before this gets unusable
I’d say I’m quite fluent, however since I mostly learned from computer related internet forums my vocabulary is quite limited.
