Funny enough, its also ruined hiring. I can’t even begin to explain the amount of bullshit CVs I’m getting.

Not to mention the idiots thinking we don’t notice the huge delay in answering during remote interviews.

We also have a pretty basic programming assignment and we’re clear and upfront about the fact that you can use AI to make it, as long as works and you can explain the decisions. But guess what?

Wow, I paid €118 for it in 2022, but then stopped using it around 2024 or early 2025 when it started to enshittify.

In general though, I think lifetime subscriptions for services that cost a company money are a shitty business model. Its like a pyramid scheme.

SuSe 7.1 was my first experience with Linux, I got a boxed copy with paper manuals and everything. It was glorious, I learned so much from that.

Part of the problem here in the Netherlands is that kids just use their laptops at school to access the same social media and chat apps.

They block it on the school WiFi, but kids either just tether their phones, hidden in backpacks or use VPNs, etc.

That being said, as the parent of a teenager, I still strongly support the ban.

Watch how there’s a clear hierarchy, some get to go first, while others have to wait their turn

Dont come too close though, buses, with their inherent weight can be the most dangerous creature in the automotive kingdom. They dont often attack, but once enraged, their rampage is nearly unstoppable.

Here in Europe we already have that, at least for comfort and above.
