What? Do roads not become crosswalks where you live?

“And that’s when I realized was a witch.”
Still stupid. If it can scrape the article, it can scrape the photos.
I simply can’t comprehend people who’s first thought, even before using something that already exists, is to turn to llms and image gens for a worse result. It’s so fucking stupid.

14·3 days agoRatios (eg ‘x to y’) are used to simplify data. If they’re just going to use the numbers as they are, then just say 133 out of 145. As is, it’s just a mess that most people won’t bother trying to figure out or internalize.

23·3 days agoShould just say “11 to 1”, or “over 11 to 1”. That mess of a ratio isn’t worth the fraction of accuracy it represents.
It also isn’t linear, so his dick is 107 times smaller than the maximum. ie 0.000001/10.

93·4 days agoInvoking religion is a ridiculous thing to have for a public office anyway, regardless of which one it is. If public officials in the US need to swear on anything, make it the US Constitution or whatever equivalent state/city charter they have.
That’s a quirk of the medium I’ve learned to accept. Some games do it well by having chunks of “on-rails” bits and others of “free-roam” based on what’s happening in the story so that it makes more sense.

12·4 days agoFor the sake of fairness, attempted murder is just as bad as successful murder in terms of intent. It’s good that the victims didn’t die on the spot, at least.
Biggest pet peeve of modern games is when the game repeatedly nags the player to go to the next mission or solve a puzzle. I like to explore games, to take the time to appreciate well made environments and lore, but when npcs or even the pc keep chiming in every minute with “[x] is waiting for me at the lab” or “I think I should [y]”, it starts to piss me off.
It’s like they don’t trust the player to play the game “right”. Games are more than just sprinting from one objective to another. Can’t even take the time to fully look over a puzzle before the game starts telling you what to do next.
Games that offer stealth as an option over combat, but have mandatory combat bosses.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution was a great game, but this was a serious issue. The game has a (notoriously buggy) achievement for finishing the game without killing anyone, but every boss requires a loadout of lethal weapons to take down, leaving a minimum of slots for non-lethal alternatives. Very annoying.
" Sorry, boss. I’ve only got pictures of Spider-Man."
Mechs, aliens, demons, etc. As great as fiction can be, humanoid defaultism is frustrating to see.
174, but that’s besides the point. ACAB because not enough do what’s right, and those that do get harassed and bullied out. Refusing to acknowledge when an officer does the right thing, and even worse, celebrating them suffering and dying for it, makes you part of the same system of abuse.
and I’m the one clutching pearls?
Yup, still are, ignoring the point of the comment in favor of the “ludicrous” context of their anecdote. “It’s just a joke” is also a poor, worn out excuse to discredit criticism.

I do think he’s authentically pretty stupid, but I would also believe it’s for money. He’s had “moments of clarity” before, then changed his tune pretty quick. May be acting up again to get attention or some hush money.
