I did try to rewrite it slightly to fit the actual situation, but couldn’t make it work.

Two economists are walking through a park. The first economist points at a pile of dog shit and says “I’ll give you $100 to eat that”, the second economist eats it and takes the $100.
A few minutes later the second economist points at another pile of dog shit and says “I’ll give you $100 if you eat that”, the first economist eats it and takes the $100.
Sometime later the first economist says “hang on, I think we both just ate shit for nothing”, the second one replies “not at all, we added $200 to GDP!”
Where’s the shit post? All I see are red flags.

1·2 days agoI’d hope that should an omnipotent god exist that it’d see right through that charade, but then we’d just be its sims flailing around in a pool with no ladder, so why should it place any value on us?

Meh. There’s good makeup and bad makeup.
That being said, if you have an opinion on someone else’s makeup, keep it to yourself.

This is the crux of it. You’re not begging for alms. If the prospective employer thinks you should be, get up and leave.

20·4 days agoLet’s assume you did do something that triggered his actions. Whatever it was, his action was to ghost you not talk to you about it.
You’ve had an early glimpse into his conflict resolution capacity.
So if you had a relationship, some time down the line you’d have had a conflict, probably with the same result, with considerable more invested in the relationship.
Let’s now assume you didn’t do anything to trigger his behavior, something else did. Same actions, same observation, but he might ‘come back’ when whatever the problem is has resolved.
Finally let’s assume he’s just a jerk. Then there’s no problem, it sucks to feel this way, but it’s the better outcome.

Yeah, we have our current conservative government coalition which seems to be salivating over what happening in the US.
I just automatically translate ‘humans’ on this context to ‘conservative Americans’… it’s right more often than not. Sometimes it’s just ‘conservatives’ and others just ‘Americans’.
Apologies to the 40,000,000 Americans who are probably accusing really nice people.
