  • Maybe both. I can’t quite put my finger on it. But he seemed sketchy. Maybe the actor. Because it was consistent.

I never knew the backstory. Yikes.

I some times watch old retro shows on the free channels on TV. Put them on when I’m cleaning or something.

Caught a few episodes that way.

The thing about old TV shows is this. 1. They were presented as promoting morals and the better social norms.

I rember an episode of Dick van dike where his secretary argued she didn’t need to be paid as much as a man because she was just waiting to get married.

The episode was dick and some other guy doing secretary work for the day and messing it all up.

I guess showing it’s hard work. But at the end the woman was like. “But I don’t need paid better”.

And presented as totally respectful. So bizzare. The blatant sexism and toxic relationships always catches me off guard.

I think it was considered normal for couples to argue pretty much daily.

How many people grew up thinking that marriage is supposed to look like that ? My gawd. People must have been miserable.

  • As someone who has attended a few colleges and universities- there are stairs flipping everywhere. Even outside.
Like they couldn’t level the campus grounds , no ? Stairs.

Stairs into buildings. Stairs inside the buildings. Stairs in the parking garages. Stairs outside on the grounds by any buildings.

    Stairs stairs and more stairs.

I swear it was intended to wear out the students to keep them from having too much energy on their hands. Or maybe intended to keep students in shape. Idk.

I can only assume the show creators visited universities (especially older campuses) and tried to be authentic.

  • I don’t like that the premise is the same as micheal from discover.

Gets in trouble. Gets a chance at proving themselves after solving a problem that no one else could.

They really should have come up with something else.

    But it’s fine.

I was kind of getting a “Harry Potter but scifi” vibe from the second episode.

Shenanigans followed by magic fix (slime). And the little magic holograms that pop up conveniently.

    Oh and student teacher rivalry.

Yeah definitely a Hogwarts vibe. Or The magicians. But scifi.

I thought in the first episode the acting was a little rough but hey, watch the first season of tng, it’s rough too.

I’m still open to seeing more.

I’m not one of those trekies who hate anything that isn’t tos or TNG.

I like all of it except enterprise. And that’s mostly cause I really don’t like the captain. And I don’t know why but I don’t. And I can’t get over it.

I even mostly liked Picard. Especially the 1st season. Kinda downhill after that.

There’s plenty to critique in every series. Plenty of inconsistencies.

But I still enjoy the world building and stories.

  • I’m sure a young man with vigor might be able to overcome some of those effects.

Especially after a few hours after taking the drug since its strong effects don’t last that long.

But the sexual physiological suppression is pretty strong and it’s also strong in women.

She ain’t no teenager with crazy hormones. Shea pushing menapause.

Things are already starting to work less dependably down there by that age.

And just to educate men who may not know this. It’s difficult and painful for a woman to have sex when she is not sexually aroused. It’s not just lubricant.

The genitals on women also go through physical changes. External genitalia plumps up. The muscles near the entrance relax and dialate. Lubricant forms all through the vagina increasing stretch. And also the muscles around the vagina relax.

When these things don’t happen (especially the muscle changes), sex will be very painful and unpleasant and can result in tears and rips.

*(There was a long discussion on reddit a few years back where I told men that pressuring their girl to have sex when she wasn’t in the mood will ultimately make her dislike you and not want to initiate sex or even be affectionate because it will be associated with pain. Pain that she will not tell you she is having because we have been conditioned In our society to not “ruin sex” for men by saying anything unsetting to them. Men’s pleasure is prioritized and ruining it for them will result in hostility from them (usually).

Many women feel like it’s easier to just give in than say no and risk the man getting mean or hostile. Or go around pouting. . So they do it even when they don’t want to. And it always hurts. It’s always unpleasant. - I got a lot of hate from men who did not like me telling them that they cause their partner pain when relentlessly asking for sex when their partner is not into it.

Men can’t be better partners if they pretend that this isn’t the reality of pressuring their partner for sex.

Those who acknowledge it are more likely to keep their partner and themselves happier.

Too much of sexual functioning for women is not taught and is unknown to most people, including women.

  • Vinacafe 3 in 1 is my favorite coffee and it’s instant.

I know it’s blasphemous to say you like instant. But trust me.

I actually really like this brand of instant coffee so much that I got rid of my coffee making contraptions.

It’s Cheap too. I get at Asian markets but sometimes even places like Walmart will sell it in their Asian section.

I swear it really is better than fancy cafe coffee shop coffees.

The taste is pretty close to a latte.
Better than anything ive ever brewed.

  • So the teleporter in Star Trek.

So it kills you then makes you new somewhere.

And it can even “rewind you” to a previous pattern.

So if you wanted to live forever. You could just do a reset every 20-30 years to a saves spot.

You wouldn’t have any of the new memories but you could leave your new self a little video or run down of the last 20 years. And then after the new you reads or watches it. Then a new pattern is saved. So that you will remember all that. And then do it again in 20 years.

The teleporter is the biggest cosmic existential horror part of Star Trek.
