Lego is becoming the Disney of Europe. All cozy-looking while perpetuating and supporting evil.

6·12 days agoAs much as I believe that culture will inform political leaning - getting stuck posting online does too little. We have to meet in real life again and move stuff in real life again. That’s where the very fragile bodies of the billionaires are, not online.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Are you or do you live in a country where organized crime exists?English
31·20 days agoBefore it was fashionable to call ‘terrorists’ or ‘insurgents’ to organizations the ruling government doesn’t like, ‘organized crime’ would have been a common term applied to any organization posing as an alternative to said government.

Thank you, this needed saying! It would be nice if we could return to just playing music without worrying at all what genre it is.
Interesting to mention also that their triangle player Egon Wurst was decapitated by a halberd during this fight while stabbing Mann with his triangle. They are so controversial that a German court ruled that their merch may not be worn in pre-schools and nursing homes!

1·1 month agoTetris and some Austrian Heimatfilm? Good luck creating crossover of that!
Or maybe don’t.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•I used to love computing as a hobby, but now it feels like it's a source of evil in the world, how have you dealt with this?English
3·4 months agoI feel this. I used to find computers and the promises of the internet exciting. Then things slowly turned into what they are now, and these days I often can only see everything computer as a layer of bullshit that has been put on top of the real world to keep us in a trance and not engage with reality anymore. But a lot of good things came from being connected as well. Maybe it’s like growing up and finding out a beloved parent was after all slightly abusive. And then see them decline in old age and have their worse traits worsened even more.
Another image that comes to my mind frequently is that of the internet as the haunted shopping mall: It was once a shiny place, everyone went there, it was all the rage. Now most of the shops are boarded up, the few that are left seem rather dodgy, and the only visitors seem to be a bunch of drug addicts hanging out at the bottom of the out-of-service escalators.
Currently I’m a bit lost trying to return to my analog hobbies. I draw, I paint, I play music, I scratch the donkeys. I often don’t have the energy I wish I had to do things other than sit at a screen. Takes time to get used to it again I guess.

Sweet summer child. Does the propaganda make you feel all cozy and warm?
