If half the girls in my school were addicted to codeine, that would have been a major scandal, lives would have been ruined. This was treated more like a minor inconvenience, they all had low grade migraines they treated by popping tylenols all day long. To be honest I’d be surprised if some of them didn’t fuck up their livers a bit.

Fair, that’s true of golf as well if you’re driving properly. I was thinking more along the lines of ‘won’t put you out of breath’.
I mean, there’s plenty of low-effort, high-accuracy sports. Pool, darts, bowling, curling, bocce, pétanque, archery, shooting… A lot of them have an old-man, alcohol-fueled vibe, not unrelatedly
Just realized there is no English equivalent for the French word butiner, so there’s a nice little word to add to this nice little thought.

I mean that’s… not realistic, but road infrastructure can protect cyclists if it’s properly designed. Paris is making those changes, but as its cyclist population increases, the areas which haven’t been renovated are turning into death traps.
A cyclist died further down that same street a few days ago, run over by a truck.
Paris is doing a lot to improve its infrastructure, but there’s still plenty more to be done.
3·2 months agoI agree, scaling users isn’t the issue, what is is the neverending chase for the mirage that is AGI. They’ll throw every processing cycle they can muster at that fever dream, that’s the financial black hole.
I find it interesting how Sam Altman has the same continuous vocal fry Elizabeth Holmes used to have. It’s infuriating how well a cheap impression of gravitas performs with investors.

I honestly think it was a sign of the stress they were under. It was a private school and a lot of parents had unreasonable expectations for their children’s, especially their daughters’, performance.
