They should contact IJ, the Institute of Justice. They will represent people free of charge on any kind of issue where the government is trampling on people’s rights, and their goal is to get cases into the higher courts and to the supreme court.
This is just awful that this happened to these women. It feels so violating to have somebody rob your house and it must feel even worse when the government does it, especially when you know that there’s literally an amendment that’s supposed to stop them from doing what they did.
They put beef jerky in bags that are exactly the same bags that they put dog and cat treats in. Whenever I go to the store and I’m waiting in line and the bags of beef jerky are there, I usually pick one up and start shaking it to see if any men come running. Do you want a treat, you want a treat?

And the warrant needs to be specific, not general. The warrant is required to be for a specific place and a specific person or specific thing.
“The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”

How else do you interpret what he says other than that he’s threatening to kill her, since that’s what’s been happening the last couple of days, one woman is dead and two people are injured. We all know about qualified immunity, but are police and ice agents actually allowed to threaten to murder people? Are there no exceptions to qualified immunity when it comes to threatening to kill people?

Or we’ve already been to them and ruined them with wars and pollution and doomsday weapons and moved on until we’re on the last habitable one…
Absolutely true.
It gets even more disturbing, though, when you realize how far $5000 would get you in 1946 and how little it gets you now.
Context: when my dad was a teenager, he bought a brand new car for well below $1000. And my grandparents’ first suburban house cost about $7000, and that was in New York, near the city.
What would $5000 get you today?
A junker used car OR two months rent.
Hint:
Some of those that work forces Are the same that burn crosses
Did anybody call the St Paul police? Were the police already there on site? What is happening to residents when they call the emergency number? Are the dispatchers telling them what to do? This is missing from the news story. Why isn’t npr asking these questions? Where are the police?
Why are the police in Minnesota, in this case St. Paul, why are they not doing anything? Couldn’t they at least require ICE to produce a warrant, and if the police would put themselves in between ice and these innocent people and ice had to arrest or tried to arrest the Minnesota police that would totally change the game, wouldn’t it?
Could you imagine how insane that story would be? It would make the trump administration look really awful to have to justify police officers being arrested by ICE. There’s never been a better opportunity for the police to rehabilitate their public image.
At the very least, the police could be there recording what’s going on. In this particular case, they could have documented how ice took this guy out to the middle of nowhere and were taking his photos.
Ice would be behaving very differently if the police would get involved and be willing to get arrested, that would be the hero cop. The police unions would get involved and it would totally change the game.
If just one good, hero cop put himself or herself in between ice and an innocent American citizen that police officer would become famous, and they would be known and written about in the history books for bringing America back from the brink of totalitarianism.
