Technology@lemmy.world•Florida woman used Claude as a diary, then Anthropic reported an entry to policeEnglish
3·1 day agoHuman in the loop is kind of a big thing in more reasonable approaches to AI. This shows the limitations of the human obviously but the point is that when making impacting decisions it should be under human responsibility.

41·1 day agoNope. In sane countries where guns are not freely available it’s a figure of speech that forever remains just that. It’s definitely something I might say. Same for me saying that I will put either of my sons in the basement when they drive me crazy. And yet they never saw said basement.

2·6 days agoYou need to deliver the drones to the location of interest though. And regularly bring fresh ones I guess. A stealthy and fast as fuck delivery platform would make sense.

1·13 days agoYou can likely call the company to tweak the configuration of yours based on the telemetry. Been there, done that with Vaillant. Nice to be able to get help without involving a tech given how expensive they are - and no tech on site will have the data Vaillant has on my heatpump which means that the tech decisions will always be inferior.

31·14 days agoThey certainly fall for a lot of crap but younger generations will likely accrue more damage over time since they have been exposed to the crap earlier. Boomers likely experienced boredom and books a tad more than those of in their twenties today :(

ADHD@lemmy.world•I hate cooking, what can I do to make it easier to do?English
2·27 days agoI’m not diagnosed but based on most of the posts that end on /all I’m suspecting I’m somewhere along the adhd line or whatever.
what makes me love cooking is that I can split large recipes in small sub tasks. I’m using a ton of small bowls to prep each part in and organize my kitchen.
Each of those little steps is in itself a small emergency that must be dealt with instead of multiple recipes for a meal.
Eventually all goes in together in a beautifully organised ceremony of sorts when it’s time to finish the recipes.
And second to that I can iterate a meticulously improve the outcome. And who doesn’t love to track progress with pics and such?

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why do we live to work rather than work to live?
1·1 month agoWell yeah but that’s the thing; knowing what you should be doing riiiiiigh before the concrete dries on you last mistake xD
And getting « the hand » for everything. Like applying plaster; from my first wall to my last it tell quite the story. And that’s if there’s no shit luck like « ho what’s this sus beam embedded in the wall doing and how do si deal with it no that I have a very large opening to do for this news door frame ».
No really fuck all that anxiety. Even with the all Internet cheering ;-)

2·1 month agoThat sounds like a nice situation. Broad market, customers by the bucket. That’s quite nice! I admire your line of work. I could never to it following my personal attempts to renovate my own home. You must have acquired a whole lotta skills to get where you are .

Technology@lemmy.world•You Know GDPR Is Good Based on Who Hates ItEnglish
3·1 month agoGDPR is a bit more than cookies banners… it gives rights to European like deletion of one’s data, right to get a copy of one’s data, portability to some extent and a lot of transparency about what processing is happening. And if one of our DPA is taking an interest in a particular sus processing they can forbid it altogether which all companies fear much more than fines. It’s really a beautiful piece of regulation. And I’m not saying only because I make part of my living out of it :)
Join those who tried making them :) It’s surprisingly easy to get consistent good results.
Super helpful comment here thanks. I tried once and failed seemingly due to my impatience. I’ll try again with this in mind.

Yeah half of the online gaming world would be in jail if this was consistently applied… intent must matter in a sane world.
