Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Donald Trump telling everyone they're gonna get "lots and lots of money" if they vote for his party
1·4 days agoWhy does it need to be a lie? It conveniently is more money than anyone on SSI is supposed to have in their bank account, automatically resulting in kicking everyone off that program for having too much money.

61·5 days agoSpaghetti, rice, potatoes, all are pretty much “boil water and set a timer.” I also enjoy the preseasoned chicken and pork from the grocery store. Turns out better than when I season it myself and the only step is to heat it up.

521·5 days agoSo tired of seeing my congressperson on every one of these lists. I voted against them in the primary, but in the general election my other choice will be someone who openly supports Trump.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What do people even mean by "If you don't use AI, you'll fall behind"?
103·6 days agoSeems like some people are looking at the AI chatbot and thinking “this thing is smarter than me.”
AI’s extremely flawed still, but it’s improving. There might actually be a day when it can do many of the things they promise. Supposedly it’s helping disease research. That seems undeniably good. Right now it’s useful in a few ways, in the future it will be helpful in more ways.
My biggest concern is that AI chatbots will soon start giving alternate versions of history. Becoming a huge propaganda tool. Even more than currently. I am afraid for the day when 99% trust it blindly. And that day is already almost here.

Work Reform@lemmy.world•Women accounted for almost all of job gains in August. Here’s why
20·8 days agoThey mentioned industries that are women dominated are the ones that are hiring. Like in healthcare 4 in 5 are women, and in education 3 in 4. That explains 75 or 80 percent. How are we getting to 98 percent?

695·9 days agoTake any sort of stance? Other than “sad AI.”
There was this commercial in the 90’s, I think it was burger king. About a young guy doing his budget, it included $19/mo for gas, and it came out to “a dollar a day for lunch? More than enough!” For a 99 cent cheeseburger. That budget was laughable at the time but it’s insane today.
