Yeah I was probably too young to grasp that when I first watched in ~2003. It was one of the first anime I watched with relatively adult themes, but was drawn in by the art style and music. The sexual overtones were lost on me.

Working through the Three Body Problem trilogy. Absolutely loving it so far and open to recommendations if you’ve got em.

Would you consider a latino + white couple an interracial couple? The categories to select from are white, Asian, and black - after that there’s typically a question to identify if a person is Hispanic.

Having the bottom fall out really changes your perspective. Folks need to have empathy and I have a strong sensation that those well off don’t realize that most of us are a few missed paychecks or a medical emergency away from being destitute.

Gonna be real with you - I don’t believe that this was an aggravated assault per the FBI’s claim. My assumption is that border patrol/ICE straight up shot this guy because they wanted target practice. I will not change my mind until I see body cam footage of the ICE officer being actively assaulted to prove that they were actually defending themselves.

So is this a non issue because it wasn’t recorded from 4 different angles? Or is the issue here that a Hispanic person was shot so nobody cares?
