What a difference in time perception we have, it’s wild, cause the early 2010’s was full on PS3 and late-early YouTube era for me. I think everyone I knew around me already was pretty connected to the internet. But yeah 10 years before that, I could see your grandparents’ situation being commonplace. Glad you had that time to discover all this awesome technology !

1·3 months agoOh true, merging them together in a Tailscale network kinda makes sense, I hadn’t thought of that thank you

1·3 months agoThanks, I’ll give Netbird a try on my server A for routing incoming traffic from friends & family, and for my original issue I think it’s easier if I use an android tv adapter/device like the other commenter said

1·3 months agoYou’re right, this makes the most sense and with little headaches. I didn’t go with it at first cause I didn’t know there was an alternative to Amazon/Google/Xiaomi devices to access Android TV, so thank you for the Nvidia Shield recommendation, I’ll check it out (and yes I know Android TV is Google, but it’s for a very occasional use, so I’ll give up a bit of privacy just for this)
Single player games are so great, but it does get lonely sometimes. There’s a whole genre that needs to be invented : multiplayer city-builders. For instance in Going Medieval it would be dope to be able to visit other players’ settlements for trade or raids on your server
Fr, I bought the entire Halo collection once on sale on Steam thinking “great, I’ll finally be able to finish what I started 20 years ago”, and found out you need a M$ account to play, and you can’t even make up a bullshit one, they NEED your phone number
