Every human has the right to live. This right cannot be taken away by a judge. In a state such as Singapore, with very restrictive laws and an authoritarian state, this is doubly important as proper legal conduct may be compromised.

I vehemently disagree with the title. This is an issue, yes, but it is a political one. State actors and governments, most notably China, are responsible for strong regulations and controls. Companies have to adhere to these regulations, but if there is someone who does the drilling cheaper because rules are not enforced or non-existant, they cannot do business.
