4·17 hours agoI’m liking the idea of expanding the routes of what you do once you complete the community center and route out Jojamart. I just hope it doesn’t turn into some 40-hour expanded route though. All I could think of is that, you could become your own farmer’s market. Hey wait, yeah! Let us compete with Pierre and run HIM out of business!

Technology@lemmy.world•Proton users cancel subscriptions following CEO Andy Yen’s “loser thinking” remarksEnglish
22·17 hours agoIt was poorly worded because he was meant to target a specific portion of something about antitrust. What he ended up doing is blatantly supporting something a Republican brought up. I guess he couldn’t have found someone within spitting distance that wasn’t Republican and also supported antitrust. Don’t know how, but that’s how short-sighted Andy is.

148·20 hours agoSay and do stupid shit, get stupid prizes.
Proton’s reputation has been getting shaky. First it was the poorly worded communication regarding support for Republicans. Then the privacy in question when they handed user’s data over to authorities. Now this.
How’s that for loser thinking, Andy?

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How soon until you think the riots and protests from Europe reach the USA?English
2·1 day agoIt’s like we have to. Voting? People think voting is going to change things? Not when we’ve got an active tyrant looking to upset voting polls at the mid-terms or worse, the next general election. Especially when we have a political party that outright will not play things fair and square once they got power.
Voting is like a passive aggressive way of change. We’re past that point and we’ve been past that point.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How soon until you think the riots and protests from Europe reach the USA?English
41·1 day agoThat is precisely what a revolution is about. It is about forcing the government’s hand. If we worry too much about the idea of social safety nets while we protest, we will never get anywhere. Revolutions were never about being convenient or cozy. It’s about fighting for a better tomorrow for the benefit of all who oppose tyrannical strangleholds.
I don’t understand why people feel they should comfortably protest without worry of losing their jobs and everything. When, you’re going to lose them anyways one point or another and it won’t be your fault either.

42·3 days agoNo. It is a matter of what state supports it and what one doesn’t. If that was the case, we’d have already arrested a few shitty presidents by now and their administrations.

Technology@lemmy.world•Sam Altman Says Gen Z Are Lame for Not Worshipping AI: "They always want to go do the thing that was cool five years ago."English
11·3 days agoYeah because they’re clinging to what they thought was a world in its last sanest place to them before overzealous CEOs were preaching the choir of AI and how it’ll solve everything. It’s easy for them to say and do the shit they do because they have no worry, the worst that can happen is the AI bubble popping, if ever. Even if it does, they’re still well off because of how much they pocketed by overpromising.
Everyone else got to watch what was once their dreams, be dashed at that cost.

Games@lemmy.world•Anyone else reckon Bethesda will go the way of Bioware?English
122·4 days agoThey banked really hard on Starfield being the game that’ll determine how things will go for them. Starfield ended up not being that good of a reception because it was simply overhyped. Now everyone’s expectations on TES VI and Fallout 5 are all but lukewarm because they’re expecting more of the same which is Bethesda’s model.
But really, Starfield was that game for Bethesda and it under-delivered.

6·4 days agoGMail is not that easy. Because, there are places and services that use e-mail clients that are easy to be sent to and received by GMail. I’ve experienced this with ProtonMail for a while, where there’ll be services and individuals that could not reach me through my Proton e-mail and I’ve had difficulty reaching out to them.

Technology@lemmy.world•Proton’s CEO Cancels AI ‘Re-Interviews’English
264·4 days agoI’ll continue to use ProtonMail myself. But, I can’t in good conscience feel in reason to support this company with my money and I’m especially concerned with relying on ProtonVPN so that will be getting uninstalled.
This is just not how you win people over and I’m tired of this day and age in tech where companies like this, pad their PR up with promises then do a 180 on their attitude towards everyone who uses their products that makes everyone second guess them. It’s bad enough we have things like Discord who has spent a couple years, making themselves look good and cozy for the public market that have alienated its userbase.
Bluesky showing their true colors and then we have this asshole CEO on Proton taking a dump whenever he pleases on the values of why we bothered using Proton in the first place.
