6·1 month agoOur makerspace shreds it all (by type of course) into flakes, but doesn’t have a use for those yet unfortunately… The handful of companies recycling it are too far away. However, at some point we want to pick up an injection molding machine for it, when we have the funds.
That is, except for the PHA (Polyhydroxyalkanoates), I just take that home and compost it.

1·1 month agoUpdate: Ordered/printed all the parts to make this conversion! I appreciate everybody’s comments and suggestions on how to move away from TAP/towards eddy in a more economical fashion though. Ultimately you all will probably end up being right and we will regret it, but I think it’s worth a shot at least. I’ll let you know how it goes!

1·6 months agoThis will be very exciting, when/if they ever perfect a photopolymer resin that is formaldehyde free, doesn’t depend on fossil fuel byproducts, and doesn’t degrade into some of the worst micorplastics out there.
