I understand the intention behind using equal earth projection, but personally I still find the Robinson projection more pleasant to look at. Or, of course, the wonderful Waterman Butterfly projection.

True that. Andrew Tanenbaum dissing on Linux in the early days just because it didn’t conform to his ideals of a microkernel is sufficiently uncomfortable to read, imo. It’s not like Linus kept anyone from making their own open source kernel.

AFAIK part of the problem is that the people who don’t drink alcohol include those who no longer drink any, but used to, i.e. recovering alcoholics or people with other health issues.

For any drug but alcohol, studies wouldn’t mix previous consumers in with those who never consumed any of it, but here, afaik, funding from booze companies complicates the situation.
