I think once a generation thin clients come up as a solution to a problem that doesn’t exist.

3·1 day agoThis is very sus. Like, conspiracy theory shit. Most of the article is like “no, really, you should believe this” and “there’s evidence, it’s suppressed and probably somewhere on a military base but you should just believe this testimony”.
They actually, literally say “the truth itself is evidence” which is nonsensical. Somehow, a random substack with some pretty huge claims doesn’t strike me as credible.
He’s also got dementia so he can’t filter himself as well, anymore. His statements are going to get crazier and crazier. He’ll say he should be in charge of the world before 2026 is over.

13·3 days agoYeah, everyone has insecurities. Everyone. They might not be ‘plagued’ by them constantly but everyone suffers from them at some point. Insecurities are just natural consequences of our survival instincts.
Someone without any insecurities probably wouldn’t live very long. They’d be absolutely fearless and would do something that gets them killed.

4·3 days agoThe worst part is that alternative search engines like DuckDuckGo and Ecosia seem to return those sites more than Google.
Google has become shit, no doubt. But, it’s still better than the alternatives. I think we need something like Yahoo!, again, but curated Wikipedia style.

For iPhones, Find My only works powered off by Bluetooth connections to other devices. Unless someone is scanning and tracking Bluetooth radios, they can’t track you.
The vulnerability in the article is about apps that send location data back to a third party who makes it available to law enforcement.
Mainly, this is a problem for people who give any random app access to location data.
