Just finished reading Nemesis Games by James S. A. Corey which has a post-apocalyptic theme and in which bicycles are prominently featured in one subplot. The characters even remark on how useful bicycles are when society breaks down.

Came here to say the same thing. I have a coworker who’s so consistent and heavy-handed with his cologne that I don’t ever have to visually check if he’s in the office or not.

He pulled the oldest trick in the book where you purposely escalate and put yourself in danger to justify lethal force. They could have all just kept their distance and nobody would have died.
