Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•any life advice for a 20yo? also does manifestation actually work
3·11 days agoJust invest in mutual funds, max out your roth ira contributions every year. Don’t try and make a living by trading, set aside 10-15% of your income to mutual funds and leave it there until you’re old. Get a job and max out your contributions, or at least max out employer contributions.
Wear sunblock.

Everytime i need to quit caffeine i buy a case of orange Gatorade. The red 40 symptoms and extra hydration offset the caffeine withdrawal. Got to start the caffeine cut off on a Friday so by Monday’s return to work the symptoms are mostly gone.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Why does China have so many multi billionaires if they are aiming to be a communist country?
53·29 days agoI think the billionaires are just a symptom of the capitalist global economy. China uses the wealth generated by the billionaires to further their goals of working towards communism.

A Boring Dystopia@lemmy.world•Gruesome image shows hiker who was impaled on walking pole but trekked 10 miles down to avoid cost of helicopter evacuation
5·1 month agoIve heard of helicopter rescue insurance in the United states. Last i looked into it (15 years ago) it was around $50 per year. Considering the fact that ive heard more than one story of people getting themselves out of the backcountry with terrible injuries, i think it would be a good investment for anyone navigating privatized healthcare while enjoying outdoor sports.
