  • This is who and what the conservatives and the Republicans are.

Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Way too many thinkpieces that seem to have as a built-in assumption that Donvict just came along and somehow ruined the Republican Party. That’s bullshit - people like David Brooks spent lots of money and ink and flowery language on papering over the fact that the Republican Party is full of Republicans for decades and pretended that Rush was just some fringe phenomenon.

It’s just the mask is coming off. Having Obama in office followed by a piece of shit racist like Donvict following him has simply pried these people loose of their usual self-editing. Now they don’t feel they have to edit themselves at all.

Another historical turning point was desegregation and white flight to xtian private schools (segregation academies). There was a decision there that boiled the blood of the racists and they took up a home in the Republican Party and married far-right white supremacist shit with xtianity under their “big tent”. I think they still don’t quite have their way on this, but we’ll see how long that lasts under this administration. It has galvanized Republicans for years, though. They are infuriated that their kids have to sit in schools with Black kids and are dying to reverse that.

  • Yeah, but KKKaroline Leavitt just said that Donvict “defeated Biden’s inflation crisis” (holy shit you have to be stupid to believe such utter nonsense), so I’m sure his polls should skyrocket, right?

The 40% that approve of his overall job performance…what to even do with these types? The is always going to be a certain kind of dipshit, even “moderates” that have been trained to believe that “'publicans gud aht conomee”, so the fact that 37% approve of his economy is unsurprising. And of course the hardcore racists are jerking off over ICE violence.

  • He has a lot of really dumb obsessions.

He thinks people seeking asylum came from mental institutions. He is obsessed with putting his name on shit he did nothing to make. He is obsessed with ballrooms. He is obsessed with windmills and thinks they are bad. He is obsessed with letting criminals like Tina Peters and the J6 terrorists go unpunished. He is obsessed with thinking he is the one that ended California’s fires.

It just goes on and on. He’s a gigantic manbaby who understands nothing about the real world.

But he had just enough brainstems to vote for him and still support him even now, because a certain kind of person thinks that this kind of thing is “charismatic”.

  • Well, I saw some talking head on Faux ask her the about the upside-down pyramid/food funnel - equating protein with steak. Because of course. /infinite facepalm

It really is like these people think protein requires animal protein, and not even just eggs or milk, but dead flesh. Everything else has no protein, apparently. So if you cannot afford steak, you should opt for chicken, LOL. Apparently no other options.

I realize concision doesn’t really permit time to educate people on nutrition or trying to get proper nutrition on a budget due to Taco destroying the economy, but between Faux and the administration, it’s like they are not even trying.

But yeah, all these people being mouthpieces for big manly macho men aren’t likely to recommend something vegan (certainly not by name) because they know how absurd their audience is about that…even if it does help them, LOL. Dog forbid someone is a “soy boy”, LOL.

  • They cannot even suggest good ways to save money OR eat healthy, FFS.

One way to eat on a tight budget is to use rice and dried beans. If you wait for sales and use coupons, beans might be really cheap canned at times, so your mileage may vary on which is cheaper, dried or canned. Make sure the rice and dried beans can be stored w/o mice or other pests getting into them.

Find cookbooks aimed at doing stuff on the cheap - something like the More-with-less cookbook. There are probably hundreds of recipes online that have rice and beans as the base.
